RL Grime is one of my favorite artists to work for because of the Cinematic and dynamic nature to his music and a distinct lore and style to his visual design.
Creative director Andrew Keyser and I worked to develop the idea of this ancient ruin landscape with a UFO that comes attacking it with lasers. utilizing the static set extension technique again I wanted to explore a larger feeling of depth in a scene.
This landscape stretches back more than 500 ft which really emphasizes the lights that sweep over the landscape towards the audience giving that feeling of of Rush and euphoria.

For Coachella in 2002 Amish Dani of Frameworx brought me out to collaborate on 2 songs for the stage visuals for Big Sean.
Creative director Mike Carson had an incredible vision and wanted to incorporate a static looking set that would be built around the same construction of the LED walls which had a very challenging zig zaggy orientation to them.
I love creating these types of shots as they are a form of virtual production and set extension which is a technique usually reserved for Film Production, this is what makes it feels like a real physical thing on a stage versus just a video behind an artist.

Coachella : 2022
When I first saw the immense size of the main stage at Coachella 2023 I was immediately challenged by its unique curve nature. This was by far the largest LED wall I'd ever created content for.
In order to create a look that felt 3D and with correct depth and perspective a previous system was used which allowed me to verify that my content wouldn't be warped or stretched around the corners.
Working with Matt Cummer the creative director on this project from human person was an amazing experience. With limited time and other Coachella shows pulling us in different directions it was amazing to see it all come to life. It's always a fun Festival to design for even if I'm not attending because the broadcast is so great and I get to enjoy it from home days after finishing the look.
